ABOUT US

The International Furniture Rental Association (IFRA) is a non-profit trade organization founded in 1967 by a group of forward-thinking entrepreneurs like yourself who recognized that furniture rental is a sophisticated concept requiring special marketing approaches and management skills. They formed the association to help advance and protect the furniture rental concept. Today, comprised of some of the most successful furniture lessors in the business, IFRA offers a wide range of member programs and benefits. Associate Membership is available to those individuals or companies which supply products and services to members but do not have voting power. IFRA is the only industry association devoted exclusively to furniture rental and leasing. IFRA helps its members navigate issues facing the industry and creates a strong community. Additionally, we meet at the Corporate Housing Providers Association conference each year to have our annual meeting. This time is used to vote on leadership, as well as set out our priorities.

  1. We will be mindful of the trust placed in us by our customers and of our responsibility to render professional furniture rental services.

  2. We will employ and practice legal and truthful advertising of our services.

  3. We will fairly disclose the obligation of both the company and the customer at the time of inception of the rental agreement and fulfill company obligation in an expeditious manner.

  4. We will respond within a reasonable period of time to any customer service complaint and make every reasonable effort to satisfy the needs of our customer.

  5. We will further the public interest by contributing to the development of a better understanding of the furniture rental industry.

  6. We will exercise corporate social responsibility. We will not discriminate and will treat our customers and employees fairly. We will respect our relationships with the communities we do business in and with the natural environment.

  7. We will practice sustainability. Our business models are sustainable by nature. Our business practices keep more greenhouse gases out of the atmosphere – the practice of renting furniture is circular.

MISSION STATEMENT

The International Furniture Rental Association strives to bring together sound furniture rental businesses that value customer satisfaction, corporate social responsibility, public interest, and sustainability. Through a shared passion for promoting a strong furniture rental industry, our organization fosters community and camaraderie between members. IFRA membership means a commitment to quality, customers, and the planet. We are an inclusive organization and encourage all furniture rental businesses that share our values to join IFRA.​

STANDARDIZATION PILLARS

These are our association-wide standards that are expected of all IFRA members. Our mission guides the work we do as business leaders and as association members, which embody the core of our goals and values. Members must be in good standing with these values to remain active. A QUICK OVERVIEW 

IFRA members can help you maintain your standard of living and benefit from substantial savings versus buying, which in turn creates a sustainable process. If you plan to stay for three years or more, then you may want to buy your furniture from the very beginning. Alternatively, many companies also have an "option to buy." This option is useful if you are not certain about your future plans because you may exercise it at any time, and recapture most of the money you have paid on a rental basis. This gives you added protection in the event that your plans change from temporary to permanent. Ask your dealer more about this option.
